Trident

Here's my latest creation for my favorite customer. You might think this trident is a continuation on the super-hero theme. After all, this kid's got the Jason Momoa/Aquaman hair style. But, no, this trident is a real-life representation of the trident in Minecraft, Johnny's other obsession.

It's made of 5/8-inch round steel, and Johnny even helped with it! Check out the following video:

Johnny was the apprentice/striker in this project. Striking is the original way that a blacksmith would work on stuff too big for his hand hammer. He would have his apprentice, and maybe other helpers for really big stuff, swing a big hammer, like a sledge hammer, to muscle the iron into shape. The master smith would use his hand hammer to direct the striker's mighty smites. Today, that work is done by power hammers and hydraulic presses.

Yeah, 5/8 round isn't really big, but you gotta start somewhere to work up to.
